One-stop voting begins Oct. 20

One-stop voting in Granville County begins Thursday, Oct. 20 and runs through Saturday, Nov. 5.

Election Day is Tuesday, Nov. 8. Polls that will will be open 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.

The statewide general election is Tuesday, Nov. 8.

One-stop early voting will be held at the following locations: 

• Oxford Public Works building meeting room (in lieu of the Board of Elections office), at 127 Penn Ave. in Oxford

• South Branch Library multipurpose room, 1550 South Campus Drive in Creedmoor

• Tar River Elementary School gymnasium, 2642 Philo White Road in Franklinton

The N.C. State Board of Elections has started sending absentee ballots to people who have requested them.

Voters can request a ballot at votebymail.ncsbe.gov, or complete a request form provided by the BOE. The request must be received through the website or by the Granville County Board of Elections by 5 p.m. Nov. 1.

In the general election, voters will select candidates for U.S. Senate, U.S. House of Representatives, N.C. General Assembly, state and local judges, district attorney and county offices.

The voter registration deadline for this election is 5 p.m. Friday, Oct. 14. Eligible people registered by that deadline may register and vote at any early voting site during the early voting period. New registrants will be required to provide documentation of their residence.
